Project HALO Laboratory - London

Paul Treacy was the Project Director and Design leader for the transformation of this Brutalist building in Central London into one of the largest and most prestigious Pathology Laboratories in the UK for HSL . The project also provides the UK headquarters for the organisation which was skilfully blended into the Tower to offer a seamless and integrated building .

In The Halo Building, the partnership’s ambitious targets of have been both met and exceeded. The newly revitalised building transforms what was previously a tired 1970s Brutalist office block, creating immaculate open plan spaces which allow for the integration of laboratory and executive functions: bright, flexible open plan spaces and a variety of sustainable features.  The new brand is powerfully communicated in the reception area and is woven throughout the fabric of the building.

The New Halo is a flexible and reconfigurable workspace which breaks down the barriers between laboratory and office adminsitrative functions and can be adapted as requirements change, ensuring that it is future-proofed.   This is a fabulous foundation on which the partnership can grow, motivated and inspired by its surroundings, into the future.
