Galway Harbour Interpretative Centre - Ireland
Paul Treacy Architects submitted an Architectural concept for a competition for an interpretative centre in Galway Harbour in Galway City - County Galway where Paul was born and grew up . The concept originated from the analysis of a currach boat which is indigenous to the west of Ireland . Paul analysed and borrowed the geometric profiles of the currach to create a modern pavilion which references the historical unique and iconic profile and Geometry of the Currach . The submission won first place by public ballot .
